As the saying goes, time flies when you’re enjoying what you do.

It seems like yesterday that Stefanie opened me the doors to CUMEDIAE, and my first work experience abroad kicked off.

A few months later, it’s time to close this chapter and start another one.

My name is Mar, and I’m from sunny Spain. My working field is Digital Marketing, and I came to Brussels to put in practice my skills in a completely unknown but interesting sector to me – European Projects in the Cultural & Creative Industries.

When my university gave me the chance to participate in European Projects, I knew this opportunity wouldn’t be repeated easily. So, I didn’t think twice: I packed my luggage and flew to Brussels.

Although the timing wasn’t the best, and suddenly we found ourselves facing a global pandemic, I wouldn’t definitely change the experience at CUMEDIAE for anything.

The day I arrived at the office I was told a very important thing: what I’d gain from this stay would depend on me and it would be my responsibility to take advantage of it.

And that’s what I tried to do every day.

While at CUMEDIAE, I felt heard and my ideas were taken into account. The team trusted me to do many and varied tasks, therefore I could significantly develop and improve my skills in Social Media Management, Blogging, Email Marketing, SEO, Visual Communication, among others.

Definitely, one of the things I appreciated the most is the freedom all of them gave me to experiment and try new things, and the fact of giving me responsibilities to prove myself that I could do more than I thought I was able to.

I can only thank you guys for the warm welcome, and for always supporting and guiding me.

I’m very proud of everything we’ve achieved as a team over these months. All the projects we’ve carried out and those we’ve just started. I’m really looking forward to seeing the next steps that CUMEDIAE will take in the upcoming months.

See you next time holding a Belgian beer at Bois de la Cambre!
