Stefanie’s interview: “ The last two years found us in the middle of the most difficult collective crisis the world has known in many decades. And within this complex environment of suffering, of fear, the cultural and creative sector is in a very special position. Culture and creativity in its multiple expressions are helping millions of people across the planet to go through each new day with the best mood. At CUMEDIAE we are happy to be involved, precisely at this time, in a pan-European project dedicated to the analysis of cultural indicators and in support of its sustainability and social impact – Measuring CCS.

CUMEDIAE is proud to be in charge of a useful tool for the creative industries, our Culture Agora platform. We believe that more than ever, it can help in the cross-border sharing of initiatives, projects, and opportunities at this time.

CUMEDIAE is a partner in the project Digital & Audiovisual Capacity Building for Accessible Heritaget (DigiTraining). Co-Founded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Commission, DigiTraining provides small and midsize museums, and heritage institutions with the digital skills and the managerial tools to benefit from them and render culture more digitally accessible. DigiTraining is set to run until July 2022 as a response to the urgent need for providing specific support to the cultural and creative sector in our current challenging environment. This project has been driven by great demand of Cultural Heritage Institutions across Europe, who have clearly expressed needs for greater training and capacity enhancement to leverage the digitisation and digitalisation of Cultrual Heritage.

The CUMEDIAE Team, firmly believes in stimulating creativity and creative industries in all their expressions, so that they may unleash their social and human potential and be the driver for innovation and growth. “

Roberto’s story:

“My name is Roberto Zecchino, I am from Terlizzi (BA), Italy, I am 24 years old and I am a student of the Master’s degree course in Economics, Finance and Business at the University of Bari “Aldo Moro”.

I am currently in Brussels, the capital of Belgium and the beating heart of the European Union, to carry out an internship under the European Erasmus+ Traineeship programme for three months at CUMEDIAE, Culture & Media Agency Europe.

Thanks to this experience, I am improving my communication skills, I am broadening my field of interest and my sphere of competence, as at CUMEDIAE I am working on digital communication, dissemination and project management in the cultural and creative industries. This allows me to focus my activity on a sector, the cultural sector, that I have never explored in depth in my studies.

In my opinion, the period of recovery that we are experiencing must be the starting point for focusing more effort on culture, starting with school education.

Promoting interest in culture from childhood onwards is the first step to stimulate the growth of the entire sector, increasing the number of people involved, and therefore human resources, consequently encouraging the use of innovative technical and material resources.

My experience here is quite short, as I will be back in December 2021, but I consider it to be the springboard of my life, professional and otherwise. It is a fundamental step in the personal and social growth of an individual.”
